First Forum of Young Parliamentarians of the Three Seas Initiative was held in previous Sunday, 3rd October. It took place at Warsaw and was a very interesting and important event which deepen an integration between TSI countries and improve their relations. In the Polish Parliament TSI kicked off a new format of meetings.
There were 9 countries which participated in debates, the topics which were discussed included geopolitics and issues related to energy, transport, digitization and culture. The meeting allowed for the development of sectoral cooperation between the Three Seas countries.
“Three Seas is a concept oriented towards the future, therefore we must involve the young generation in building a better future” – emphasizes the Marshal of the Polish Parliament, Elżbieta Witek.
Delegation of individual countries of was as follows: Riina Sikkut (Estonia), Marius Matijošaitis (Lithuania), Ieva Kačinskaitė-Urbonienė (Lithuania), Filip Havârneanu (Romania), Lőrinc Nacsa (Hungary), Zsófia Koncz (Hungary), Rihards Kols (Latvia), Nik Prebil (Slovenia), Tomáš Šudík (Slovakia), Miroslav Žiak (Slovakia), Jure Brkan (Croatia), Marko Milanović Liter (Croatia). The Poland was represented by Rafał Bochenek, Marta Kubiak, Daniel Milewski and Sylwester Tułajew.
The Three Seas initiative aims to promote cooperation, first and foremost, for the development of infrastructure in the energy, transport, and digital sectors. It targets new investments, economic growth, and energy security.
